So I plan on going camping when I get back to the states, it looks as though my dad is going to come out to Utah and we will go down to Zion National Park area. There is a area on the Utah/Arizona border called “The Wave” it is an huge area of petrified sand dunes it looks pretty cool in the pictures I have seen. The frustrating thing with the wave is trying to obtain a permit. Only 20 permits are given out in a day, 10 in advance and 10 the day of. There aren’t open reservations for several months out, and it could be risky to get there and not receive a permit. I think it is a chance we are willing to take though. For more information and some pictures you can look here http://www.zionnational-park.com/coyote-buttes-paria.htm
I went to Moab last year and had an awesome time, this year though is going to be real camping in tents, no trailers. I won’t have the budget I had last year either so I can’t afford to rent cool toys and pay for white water rafting trips. I think it will a lot of fun though I am sure we will get to do a good amount of hiking, taking pictures, and exploring the natural beauty of Utah.
