I have quit lifting heavy, and started doing my cardio again. Today was my first time running more than a mile in over a month and a half. I couldn’t believe how much it hurt, so after I finished running I went to the pool and I swam a few laps. My lungs were really hating me, and my arms were dead I had to take breaks in between each lap. I know that as long as I keep it up I should be back to where I left off, when I quit doing cardio, in a week or so. I kind of wish I had not quit doing my cardio at all, but I needed to bulk up some and cardio doesn’t help for that. EST tryouts are going to be here soon, and I want to be sure I am prepared for them. I know once I get back to Utah I am going to have to run alot to adjust to the altitude difference, I think it is nealry 4,500 ft higher than here.

Emergency Service Team
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Saturday, 29 July 2006
E.S.T. also know as the air force’s SWAT team. Hill AFB is fortunate to have such a team and being located in between several large cities (Salt Lake City and Ogden) we have the opportunities to attend their SWAT schools we also have slots to Army S.R.T. School (very similar.) I tried out in Febuary and wasn’t selected for the team, however I believe that will benefit me for the next tryouts, which are supposed to be in September. There is a different guy in charge of the team now though and he may change things, so I am hoping that I still have a little bit of a lead as far as knowing what to expect. I really am not looking forward to going through the tryouts again, even though I had a good time it still beat me down and exhausted me more than anything else ever has. Wish me luck.

“Kaiser”
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Friday, 28 July 2006
“Kaiser” is a chocolate labrador retriever, he is going to be a puppy when I get him. I still am unable to have a dog and will probably be this way for a while to come, however when I get one it will be “Kaiser.” I have wanted my own dog for ever and last year I was thinking I might be able to get one when I get back. It didn’t happen and probably won’t happen this year either. I could get one, but I have several reasons as to why at this point I wouldn’t be a good dog owner. First I am in the dorms for a little bit longer, next I work 14 hour days and wouldn’t be able to give the attention a young puppy so badly needs, If i had a room mate in an apartment that may help, but I don’t want to try to push that responibility on to someone else, then I also am greedy and want my dog, trained by me and to follow my rules some one else may bend, break, or not enforce them, plus I deploy alot I am gone for atleast 6 1/2 monthes a year, which makes it especially hard to be the owner of a dog. If I were able to have somebody else watch him rather than give him up, he wouldn’t remeber me when I came back, and who wants to do that every year. When I am finally able to get Kaiser I have a lot of cool ideas that any other dog would envy, so If your a dog owner take warning.

Sunset Safari
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Thursday, 27 July 2006
I have been to the desert twice now, and both times have been to the same location. We are fortunate enough to be allowed to go downtown and on certain trips occasionally. I wanted to go on one last year, but every time I put it the paperwork something would happen. I spent most of this year in the same situation, However time has prevailed and I finally got to go today. I had a very pleasant time and thought it was well worth the money. It cost around $55 dollars for everything. I got to ride a camel, go sand dune boarding (snowboarding down sand dunes) and dune bogging in a land cruiser. We also ate an authentic Arabian dinner and had a grand old time.

Girls, Girls, Girls
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Wednesday, 26 July 2006
I am probably going to regret this, but it just seems appropriate right now. Some of you may have an idea as to what I am talking about, to the rest of you, it’s not important that you know anybodies names. I hate talking about my relationships to people who don’t need to know. I really don’t like the idea of posting stuff for the whole world to see either, so if I starting ranting on and start divulging information, then just stop and pick up with something else that’s probably why. Or it may be that there is so many ways to confuse one’s self when the subject of girls is brought up.
First I hate being led on by a girl who isn’t interested, it happens all the time. They say they can’t be mean and tell the guy to leave them alone. Well I would much rather be totally rejected, than led on and waste part of my life, only to later find out that you “couldn’t be mean.” Learn to tell a guy to back off!
If you date a guy and things don’t work out, why do you expect us to be best friends. That probably isn’t going to work out either, got it!
If you have a serious relationship with a guy and break up, then date/marry his friend, do you really think that they are going to want remain friends. Especially if your new husband is jealous.
Side Note
I am not saying you have to hate anybody after a relationship fails, and I am not saying that it is impossible to remain friends, especially if you were really good friends before, you became romantic. Please just face the fact that most of the time it won’t work back into friendship.
I had a lot more on my mind when I started this, but I have been able to vent a little and don’t necessarily feel like I should write anymore on this topic.
On a slightly different topic why is it that all the girls I take an interest in have to end up being far away from me. Florida, Mississippi, multiples back home In Arkansas, even in Utah.
Oh, well I guess that’s enough for one nights worth of frustration towards females. Iris is right a dog is definitly the way to go.

When I get back
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Wednesday, 26 July 2006
I have a long list of things that I would like to do when I get back to the US, problem is I don’t have the time or money for all of it. I need to figure out my priorities, but that is much easier said than done.
-EST tryouts are supposed to be sometime in September
-I want to take leave and go home for about two weeks.
-I want to do something with my truck, sell it or build it up.
- I plan to get my handgun, may have to wait two weeks if I buy it new.
-I want to go skydiving.
-I plan to do a camping trip.
-I need to find a place to live.
-I still want to try and get that Investigators job.
-I still have a large list of things that don’t take much time, but require lots of money, such as; buying stuff for truck, buying stuff for guns, buying plane tickets, paying rent on an apartment, the list goes on in my head, but I just can’t think about it all right now.

Fire Arms
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Monday, 24 July 2006
I own a 12 Gauge Remington 870 Magnum w/ 18 bore cylinder barrel. I had a top folding stock that I installed, however it broke after firing several rounds of Magnum Slugs in rapid succession. I currently have the original stock put back on it. I am planning to purchase a knoxx stock that reduces felt recoil up to 95%, for those not familiar with shotguns that is incredible. I found it hard to believe at first, but after visiting the companies website and watching a few product demo videos, I am willing to give it a try. I am going to get the Spec-Ops stock it collapses, very similar to what I have on my issued M-4. If you would like to learn more check out their site. http://www.knoxx.com/NewStyleKnoxx/Products/SpecOpsStock.html
I am planning on purchasing a handgun when I get back to the US. I am going to get my concealed carry permit, and will carry my handgun concealed on a regular basis. I think I have settled on .40 SW and I would like to get a Sig Saur. I really like the Equinox, however I have taken into consideration that this would be my primary carry gun and probably get banged up a little. The Equinox is a beautiful gun and though I am sure it can handle a few scratches it shouldn’t have to be subjected to them. Not when your paying more for the fancy look anyway. I will make a final decision when I am able to hold and shoot test guns at the dealer in utah, but I think I have settled on the Sig p229 DA/SA. I might buy a used gun depending on what deals I can get, but I feel comfortable with trusting Sig’s reliability. I have read review after review on Sig 229 and Sig’s in general and the overall consensus is that Sig’s are about as reliable as they get.

I am tired… Cont.
Posted by bombsquadwannabe on Sunday, 23 July 2006
Ok, the 23 Of July Is Monica’s birthday so last night I bought her a birthday card, after work I went around the base looking for most of our fellow cops, to have them sign it for her. I spent nearly 2 1/2 hours doing this. I then had to find her, and make sure it was an appropriate time to give it to her. I then just played some pool and darts and hung out with her and some other people for about an hour or so afterwards. I headed to bed around 0430, but couldn’t sleep. I had a headache and my body hurt all over, so I tossed and turned until at least 0530 before falling asleep. I woke up at 0935 to get ready for work and I spent the majority of the day in the hot humvee driving around or sitting waiting for something to happen. I have tomorrow off and hope to find something exciting to write about for you.
